Eurofins AvTech Laboratories Adds Michael D. Barron to Team
(February 23, 2010; Portage, MI) – Eurofins AvTech Laboratories, a leading analytical contract research organization (CRO), is pleased to announce the addition of Michael D. Barron, MBA, to Eurofins AvTech.
Barron has been appointed director of business development at Eurofins AvTech. He will be responsible for developing contacts and building relationships with prospective and current clients – and for implementing strategies that will generate revenue growth.
Graduating from The Evergreen State College, located in Olympia, Washington, Barron earned a Bachelor of Science in life sciences. He also received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Barron’s previous positions have contributed to the structure of his significant industry experience, including those held at Catalent Pharma Solutions, Cardinal Health, and other leading contract drug development and analytical service companies. Additionally, Barron has been invited to speak at many industry conferences including American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), Center for Business Intelligence (CBI), and IBC Life Sciences. He has also been selected to speak at internal strategic planning and educational events for large pharmaceutical companies.

Eurofins AvTech Announces Director of Business Development (Portage, MI; December 2, 2008) – Eurofins AvTech Laboratories (AvTech), located in Portage, Michigan, is pleased to announce the Director of Business Development, Jeff Moran. Jeff will lead the business development team and enhance client relations through communication, marketing and strategy development by partnering with clients to get their drug products to market faster. Jeff possesses a unique combination of experience, with over eight years of successful business development supporting both bioanalysis and Phase I, along with more than 5 years of operational experience. He maintains expertise in the areas of quality systems, high-throughput LC-MS/MS, laboratory efficiency, bioanalytical regulations and client service. Jeff has addressed these topics at industry conferences including AAPS, APA, Land-o-Lakes, ISLAR and TIW. He has gained valuable and practical industry experience while advancing through various positions from laboratory analyst to business development. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Nebraska, where he was a Regent Scholar.

Eurofins AvTech Laboratories Strengthens Management Team (Portage, MI; September 9, 2008) – Eurofins AvTech Laboratories (AvTech), located in Portage, Michigan, is pleased to announce the addition of three exceptional individuals to bolster its senior management team.
Raymond Farmen, Ph.D., has been appointed President of Eurofins AvTech Laboratories. Farmen graduated with a Ph.D. from the Indiana University School of Medicine and has built significant pharmaceutical industry experience from positions held at Bristol-Myers Squibb and various analytical service and consulting companies. Of particular note are the many leadership positions Farmen held at Camargo Pharmaceutical Services, MDS Pharma Services, and Phoenix International Life Sciences. As President at AvTech, Farmen provides technical and scientific direction for method development, bioanalytical, product testing, and animal health areas. In addition, he is responsible for general management, technical, and profit/loss decisions for the company.
Steven Weber, Ph.D., joined AvTech’s senior management team as Director, Bioanalytical. Weber’s experience includes work at Pfizer, as a Senior Director in Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, and Metabolism-Michigan (PDM-MI). While in this role, his responsibilities included oversight of all PDM-MI regulated bioanalytical and toxicokinetic support, the Mass Balance/ADME center of excellence, and the PDM-Resource Lab.
Leon Clark, Jr. also joined the senior management team as Director, Animal Health. Prior to joining AvTech, Clark managed more than 200 employees at Pfizer and developed, tested, and implemented the Rapid Laboratory concept. His management experience and analytical expertise will be a great asset to AvTech.
